IELTSのSpeakingを大阪で受験した件~回答付き~
初IELTSのSpeakingテスト受けてきました。
２日に分かれているとSpeakingだけに集中できていいですね。
久々にネイティヴと話すと考えるとガチガチに緊張してしまいました。
YoutubeのIELTSの動画でだいたいの流れは知っていたので、特にはじまってから焦ることはなかったのですが、やはり緊張はします笑
関係ないですが、YoutubeのIELTSのSeakingのコメント欄を読んでいたら「この発音で7.0はないわ〜」とか「これで8.0だったら私は10.5よ！lol」とか「彼はイケメンだから話さなくても満点！」みたいコメントがあって面白いです。
さて、それではいまだかつてない詳細なレポートをしたいと思います。
受付
まず受付に行くと、パスポートと指紋の確認をして待機となります。
待機中に本などは読めるのですが、腕時計など電子機器類は荷物だなに入れる必要があります。
予定開始時間になったところでなんと目の前にネイティヴが...！
僕はアメリカにちょっとだけ留学経験があるのですが、田舎者なのでネイティヴをみるといまだあがるという特徴あります。
そしてネイティヴに名前を呼ばれます。

試験開始〜Part 1〜
小さな部屋に入ります。緊張しすぎて試験官の席に座りそうになりました。
Rela〜xとかネイティブのノリで言ってくれるのかと思ったら割と淡々と試験は進められます。
まず全員聞かれる質問
「仕事をしていますか？学生ですか?」
I am (a) university student. I have been studyied ⚪︎⚪︎ for almost 4 years.

もっと話そうかと思ったところで暗記対策なのかすぐ次の質問に移ります。
「真面目な学生ですか」
To be honest, I'm (a) really lazy student. I took all my credit for graduation so currently I have lot of time
「Haha, 学校から帰った後何をしますか」
Actually I didn’t do anything special, because I need to commute from A to B so I was tired after come back so after I came back, I just relaxed.
A to Bと言ったら大変だね～というリアクションをしてくれました。
...この試験官の外国人って日本相当長いんだろうか？
日本の知識があって日本人のアクセントになれているなら日本人は日本で試験受けた方が伝わりやすくて点数はよくなるのかな？
「ゲームは好きですか」
I used to play game when I was junior high school, but recently I dont't play game because I feel it is waste of time.」
「最近の子供たちはゲームをやりすぎだと思いますか」
Yes, I think so. Today I met (my) nephew and neice and both of them playing Nintendo DS. I think they spend too much time for playing game.」
「子供の頃どんなゲームをしていましたか」
I played Nintendo Wii. I liked to play Smash brothers with my friend.
「OK。次は交通機関について聞きます。どの交通機関をよく使いますか」
「Most of the time I use train. It is most convenient way and my house is located near station but when I prefer to walk for shopping.」
「交通機関で大変だったことは何ですか？」
Train in Japan is very crowded especially in rush hour. When I was high school, the trains was very clouded so it was really hard for me to commute in the mooring
「もっとも遠くに行った時の交通手段は何ですか？」
When I went to US, I use plane.
「これから交通機関はもっと便利になっていくと思いますか」
I don’t think so. Investment for infrastructure cost a lot (of money) so it is difficult make a big station or longer train. I don’t think it will be changed so much.

「I went to Mie prefecture and I visited Ise town with my family in New Year for celebration for my graduation. I went to (a) hot spring with my family and it was very nice. Food was very delicious; there is lot of food. Next day we went to aquarium and we saw a dolphin show and sea lion show. It was very great and I (was) surprised because their intelligent level is much higher than I expected so after that I planed to train my dog.
There are famous place called Isejingu. Sometime Japanese King(Emperor) go(goes) there. I wanted to go, but my parent is so old so they are too tired to go there. I am youngest so my parent very old….

「それでは先ほどの質問と関連した質問をします。田舎に住むことの利点は何ですか？」
Actually I live in local area. I live in Osaka but I live in more outside.. suburb area of Osaka. The advantage of suburb area is fresh air and silence and we have many… not many… we have river near my house and park so we could go there with my nephew and neace and dog to walk and we have quality time at there.
「田舎で住むことは老人にとって大変ですか」
No, I don't think so. It is getting convenient from(comparing to the) past. Even for old age people, they can use car, and I heard Seven-Eleven start omni-cannel that is delivery service for old person. I guess these trend will continue so I guess it is much convenient from past.
「田舎で住むことは街で住むことより不便ですか」
I don’t think so. Recently a lot of company like supermarket or Seven-Eleven (move) in(into) local area. So it is not convenient as past.
I guess there is less opportunity to be hired as employee, so for young people will be decreasing but It was nice to place to live
「先ほどの回答と関連しているかもしれませんがどういった人が田舎に向いていると思いますか」
As I said, young people are difficult(hard) to live there because there is less job opportunity but for old person, it is nice place for old aged, so after retire form the job I want to live there
「田舎に人々が多く訪れることで何か影響があると思いますか？」
ここで私は聞き取れなかったので、
Ah, could you say that again? と言ったら
Could youくらいでsure!と言ってゆっくり言い直してくれました。
聞き直すの大事！
Yes, I agree, no, I mean Yes, I think so. For example Hawaii, lot of people visit there and throw their garbage it affect environment and I also heard their footprint.. not footprint, but ...their heaviness(weight)? damage the land…in castle…Yes, I think its affect there……
「テストはこれにて終了です。」
という感じでした。
う〜ん、突っ込みどころ満載ですし、終わった後の感想としては単純な文章しか作れていないな〜という感じでした。
文法のミスもそうなんですが、文章のつたなさと短さが気になりました。また試験の最中はアイデアがポンポン出てこずに終わってからああいえば良かったなー！ということの連続です。その繰り返しで英語は伸びていくのかもしれませんが。
特に後半のPar t31は1分くらい話すつもりが、Part1と同じくらいのペースで質問を次々と消化していってしまうという状況に陥りました。
唯一良かった点はあまり詰まらずに話せたことです。これはオンライン英会話をやっていて良かった点です。また英会話をやっていると以前使ったトピックや言い回しが使えるのも良かったです。
今回はネイティヴの話すスピードにつられて自分もいつも以上に早く話してしまい、緊張で小声だったことも合わせて聞き取りにくかったのではないかという心配もあります。
試験の際はいつも以上にゆっくり、大きな声で話す心持ちでいた方がちょうどいいかもしれません。
試験官は話している最中は結構リアクションも取ってくれて、DMMの一部のやる気がない講師より話しやすいといえば話しやすかったです（笑）
だいたい記憶にある限りありのままを書いたつもりなので、また２週間後、試験結果がわかればこちらにupして、受験される方の目安になればいいかなと思います。
〜追記〜
Speakingの結果は5.5でした！
ちなみにR6.5 L6.0 W6.0 S5.5 Total6.0
という感じです。
基本的には簡単な構文ばかりだった気はするのですが、あまり詰まらなかったこともよかったのかなぁとも思います。
見直した時点で明らかな文法のミスはあるにも関わらずこの程度で5.5でるというのは一つの発見でした。
少し調べたのですが、文を複雑にするために、受け身、関係代名詞、仮定法等を文章中に含ませると良いそうです！

IELTSを大阪で受験した件~2days~
IELTS大阪で受けて来ました！( ´ ▽ ` )ﾉ
初IELTS。感想としては...TOEFLより30年くらい遅れてる試験という感じですね。。。
まず受験前日に「鉛筆」が必要だということを知り、前日の夜小学生のようにガリガリと鉛筆を削っていました。よく小学校の先生がシャーペンを使ってはいけません！とか言っていて「意味不明だな〜。」とか思っていたんですが、まさかそれを海外の試験で経験することになるとは。
ちなみに鉛筆は3本用意していったのですが、writingの時にはだんだん芯が短くなっていって、ちょっと読みにくくなってしまったので、鉛筆はたくさん持って行った方がいいと思います。
試験当日
朝８時40分までに荷物を預けねばならず、遅刻すると受験できないとのこと。
オイオイオイ！2万５千円も払ってんねんぞ！Nintendo swich買って遊んでた方が良かったやんけ！と駄々をこねてもいけません。
1分でも遅れたらそこで試合終了です。
それがこの世界のルールなのです。。。
その割りに、試験のスタートはゆっくりです。ここは改善の余地ありですね☆
なのでいつも昼頃に起きるのですが、頑張って６時に起きました。試験とは関係ないですが、早起きすると1日が長くなった気がしてお得ですね。これから早起きします。
８時過ぎに会場についたので、荷物を預ける部屋で勉強してました。8時４０分過ぎてからも20分くらい教室でぼーっと待機です。ちなみにトイレに行けました。ちなみにトイレに行くとパスポートを見せて指紋をもう一度チェックされます。
あとは早起きして眠すぎたので睡眠に充てていました。
試験会場はだいたい100人くらい。たぶん関西圏を合わせてこの人数だからいかにTOEICと比べて受験者が少ないのがわかります。
ちなみに海外の人も受験しに来ているため、インストラクションは英語でちょっと焦りました。
Listenig
まずはリスニングからです。これがReadingから始まるTOEFLとは違うんですね。IELTSって全体的にTOEICに似てる気がします。スキャム重視なとことか。
ListeningはYouTubeで英語の自動字幕を付けてシャドーイングをしていて、こんなんTOEFLに比べたら簡単だな〜とか思っていたのですが、実際に解くと最初の方でもあれ？これどっちかな？みたいなことが多発しました。
特に「つづり」と「複数形」に関して問題があったなと思います。
例えばハーバーという単語を記入する必要があり、hurbar?harbar?と迷ったのですが、後で調べるとharburでした。
また単語の聞き取りに一生懸命になっていると、「今の複数形だったっけ？」みたいな問題が多発します。
全体的にTOEFLより簡単ですが、上記のようなことで点を結構落とした気がします。
きちんと練習しないといけませんね。
余談ですが、解いていてへぇ〜となる問題が結構あって、「幸福の科学」的なテーマがあり、
・老人の方が若い人より幸福を感じやすい
・人間の脳は、何かを達成しても、問題点を見つけてフォーカスするようにできているので、いつまでたっても満足しにくい。
・運動をすること、仕事でうまくいくこと、目標を設定することが幸福につながりやすい
という内容で興味深かったです。（勘違いしている可能性あり）
英語の問題って結構、専門外のことを学べるので好きだったりします。
Reading
次の科目はリーディングでした。今まで知らなかったのですが、IELTSはパートごとに問題を回収してまた新しい冊子を配るという方式のため、10分くらい間があって、ちょっと頭を休めることができます。
Readingはオーソドックスな感じです。単語のレベルなんかはIELTSの方が易しいのですが、紙の試験という性質上、ページを行ったり来たりするのはややめんどくさいです。
ですが、全体的に読みやすく、かなりスキャニング能力を試されているテストだと感じました。ですのでキーとなる情報は、囲むなりする必要があります。
問題の内容は、「左側通行と右側通行の歴史」、「アメリカの図書館の歴史」「料理と科学の組み合わせ」みたいな感じでした。
よくわからなかったですが、たぶんナポレオンが左利きで、右から来た敵に対して刀を抜きやすいようにヨーロッパは右側通行になったらしいです（適当）
Writing
本日のラスト。Writingまで来たらもう結構リラックスできた感じでした。
手を止めることなく書くと大体1時間でpart1とpart2それぞれプラス50文字と100文字くらい書けたと思いますが、見直すと大きなミスを連発していました。
例えば
This 4 pie charts tells us~みたいな。
Speakingでもよく単複のミスを指摘されるのですが、なんでこんなに間違えるのかなと考えたところ、おそらく単複の形は主語と動詞の両方の形に注意しなければならないからだと気付きました。
例えば上記の例だとThese this 4 pie charts tells のように、単複で形が変わる部分が３つもあるせいでややこしいのです。
しかし実際の試験中私が考えていたのは、showの言い換え（パラフレーズ）って何があったっけ？という語彙（Lexical Resource）についてだけであり、時制や人称についてはついつい適当になってしまっていたのでした。
ちなみにグラフの説明問題でshowの言い換えとしては
illustrate
explain
compare
indicate
なんかがあります。
もし次回受ける機会があれば気をつけようと思います。
テーマは「女性は理系より人文系を選ぶ傾向にある。その理由の分析と今後その状況は変わるべきか」というものでした。
私の回答としては
1段落： いくつか理由はある
2 段落：文化的な背景
3段落：脳の違い
4段落：文化によって最適な選択ができていないのであれば問題
5段落：だから変わっていくべき
みたいな回答でした。
ちなみに2dayで受験したためSpeakingは明日の受験となるため、また明日にでもSpeakingの感想などを書けたらと思います。
Experience from Online DMM Eikaiwa teacher, What do we expect to the teacher?
I have been used DMM Eikaniwa for almost 1 years and I really enjoy talking with DMM Eikaiwa teacher. Most of the teacher is really nice and friendly but some teacher is not nice sometimes so I would like to write about my experience
1. Please do not finish class before 25min
The worst impression comes from this, if teacher finish in 24min, then student feel this teacher want to finish quickly even if the material finished. Even if the 1 min it is important for students especially Japanese
2. Please do not waste the time after material
Sometimes material finished quickly. Then, please ask students what do you want next? I have experienced the teacher who does not want to move next material, so when I chose next material, he just talk about meaningless thing like this material is not tagged or this material is too easy.. and we finished this class. We quickly notice if you want to try to consume time for a meaningless thing. This is one of my worst experience.
3. Please focus on the class
Some teacher does not focus on the class. Most of the negative comment is this, the teacher was typing something of stare at somewhere or seems dull. You had better make sign that shows student I am listening like nodding or smiling or small response
4. Please give us feedback or correct our English
Some teacher does not give us feedback or can not correct English and just smile and say great! or do you have any question? If you have the ability to do that, please do it as long as you doesn't go nitpick level. I understand it is difficult for Japanese because we usually prefer polite way or indirect way when you give us feedback and there is a risk of being offensive. If you cannot our English, please just check the meaning or at least give us a sentence in your English.
5. Please use chat box effectively
If you tell them a sentence, it is better idea use chat box because after class we can check the sentence.
6. Please write a lesson note.
If we access DMM Eikaiwa, our top page is previous class's lesson note. One teacher wrote lesson note like - (dash mark) for each section. I was sad.
7. If you have complaint to the students, perhaps students think the same thing
Surprisingly I have experience that one nonsmile teacher and an unenthusiastic teacher before and both teachers required me more smile and enthusiastic! so I notice lesson is like a mirror. After that, I try to pay attention for that.
Personally, I like to talk private thing to the teacher even though I am learning English for examination. We like friendly teacher very much.
Unfortunately, this is the end of this essay. Again I like most of the teacher and really enjoy taking classes.
